Annual Meeting Minutes - January 21, 2021
Lone Oak Creek Homeowners’ Association
Annual Meeting Minutes
January 21, 2021
1. Due to Covid-19, a Zoom meeting was held and called to order at 7:00.
2. Introduction of current Board members: Lindsi Kerstetter – President, Debbie Hill – Treasurer, Mary Bohn - Secretary, Stacy Moorhead – member at large.
3. Treasurer’s report
a. Debbie reviewed the full year costs for 2020 and the 2021 budget. In 2020, we were able to accrue money for street repairs as planned.
b. 100% of the dues were collected for 2020
c. Dues will remain the same for 2021.
4. Major activities for 2020 included:
a. Gate repairs
b. Replacement of several sections of sidewalk along Lone Oak Dr.
c. Cleanup of algae in the pond, which was a shared expense with three other neighborhoods bordering the pond.
5. Owner/Board discussion
a. In response to a question, the Board confirmed that, when we require our lawyer’s assistance to collect dues, the homeowner also pays the collection fee.
b. It was brought up again this year that we do not have electricity at the entrance for Christmas decorations and other uses. If any homeowner would like to investigate ways to get electricity there at a reasonable cost, the Board would be happy to consider it.
c. With regard to the flower beds at the entrance, our plan is to continue to add perennials to reduce the ongoing cost for annuals.
d. The tree limbs from the snow/ice storm have finally been picked up by the City in our neighborhood but not at the entrance. Debbie will ask our landscaper, LPs, to dispose of the limbs.
e. There was a lot of discussion regarding the Lone Oak Park being developed by Oklahoma City along both sides of Bluff Creek (formerly the green belt behind Wild Creek Drive for our neighborhood).
i. Several homeowners on Wild Creek have received letters from the City telling them to remove any playground equipment, bird/deer feeders, and in some cases, move fences that are on the green belt.
ii. The Board has not received any communication from the City regarding the plans for the park or how the City expects residents in the Lone Oak neighborhoods to access the park. Homeowners on the green belt side of Wild Creek and along the pond are concerned regarding where the City plans to place walking paths and how that may impact the privacy of those homes. We believe that the City will contact the neighborhood HOAs at some point, but we expected that to happen much earlier.
f. Several homeowners, who are not able to be full-time Board members, offered to assist with specific task as needed:
i. Judi Startzman
ii. Katie Okerlund
iii. Jordan Watson
iv. Jason & Denise Lawson, especially any research needed on easements.
6. Board member nominations and election
a. Lindsi Kerstetter is stepping down as President due to moving out of the neighborhood soon. We thank Lindsi for her years of leadership.
b. Debbie Hill will continue as Treasurer
c. Mary Bohn will continue as Secretary
d. Stacy Moorhead will continue on the Board and assume responsibility for the gates
e. New members to the Board are Barbara Rhoades and Katina Smith. Their roles will be determined in our first Board meeting.
7. The Board will next meet on Monday, February 8th, at 7:00 PM via a Zoom meeting. If any homeowner would like to attend the meeting, please email the Board prior to the meeting at loneoakcreek@gmail.com.
